How the math works

Total day length, minus the passing periods, minus lunch and homeroom, leaves the teaching minutes. Those are split evenly across your periods.

Any leftover minutes go to the earliest periods, so the last bell lands exactly on the dismissal time you asked for rather than drifting a few minutes past it.
